Alex H, Beth & Ralph E win medals at National League Qualifier
The Cardiff National League competition held last weekend was one of the largest trampoline events ever held in Britain but despite the numbers RSC had a fantastic weekend of results.
Beth took pride of place in the League 3 Level with a fantastic 2nd place
in a huge U17 group. Annabel was next best placed in 12th winning
good points for finals qualification and despite improved performances Georgia
(34th) and Martha (46th) finished outside of the points. Alex H had
a fantastic result in the U19 boys, despite missing his warm up and having to
compete completely cold, won the bronze medal and a hatful of points. Katherine
performed two very strong routines in the large U15 girls group to make the
final in 5th place earning a massive points score, and finishing the
final in 7th. Matt in his first event at this level (10th
U/13) and Megan (13th 19+) both performed two solid routines each to
earn good points and give themselves a real chance of making finals.
Alex E compete at League 2 level, and with two good routines finished in an excellent 12th place and good points towards the National League finals which take place in the Olympic Velodrome 26/27 November.
So after the Saturday performances the pressure was really on our League 1 competitors. Katie was first up and with two solid routines finished in a creditable 19th place in a very strong event, gaining valuable points for the finals. Ralph H, put his recent crashes at this level behind him, to secure 5th place going into the finals. Confidence restored, he pulled out his 10.1 difficulty for the final which was enough to move up to 4th place. Ralph E ended the weekend as it started; with a medal winning performance performing 3 excellent routines to secure a fantastic 3rd place.
So the weekend in numbers – 12 RSC competitors; 100% routines; 10 point scorers; 5 finalists; 3 medallists – what a fantastic effort; well done all.
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to officiate and especially Diane who ended up on a panel. Thanks also to the club baby sitter and shopper (you know who you are… Cindy)!
