Gillingham Grading - after the flood!

RSC took a full squad to the Grading held at the Gillingham Rebound centre.  This was a rescheduled event as the original was flooded out.  There was panic as torrential  overnight rain in the Gillingham area led organisers to fear that the event might be flooded again, but happily the it did go ahead.

Cheynne bouncing in the U15 D section was attempting to achieve a promotion point and qualify back up to National grade C.  Being one of the youngest of the 10 competitors it was always going to be tough as she had to finish the prelims in the top 2 to achieve the promotion.  Happily Cheynne bounced close to her best and achieved the required 2nd place, just 0.3 behind the leader.  In the final, which starts  again from zero and is based on the score of just the one routine, Cheynne improved her performance and eventually tied scores with the leader, only losing out on first place on the tie-break rule.  So congratulations to Cheynne who returns to the National Grade C, and ended up runner up as well.

There were great performances also from Sophie A (U19 D) & Alex (U13 E) who both finished in 4th place in their groups missing out on podium places by very small margins.  Ralph (U13 G) completed both his routines for a good showing.  Carlie top scored for the U13 team (G), with Sophie T, and Keira.  The young team finished 8th of the 16 teams in a very large group, which was a great performance.
