RSC travelled to Sheffield on Saturday to take part with a number of other clubs in the Abbey Fliers Sheffield invitational, and enjoyed some great results.  Cheynne won the U11 section and Alex was 5th in the U13s.  The team of Alex, Carlie & Sophie were 4th.  Kia won the 17+ group with Juliette in 2nd, and together with Carolyne & Katie won the team event.  The B team of Lauren Lydia and Jade (competing for the first time in some 3 years) finished in a creditable 3rd place.  The top 7 scorers for each club went towards the overall team event, and RSC came second behind the host team AFTC whose squad includes several Junior internationals, winning the runners up prize of £30 to go into club funds.

Kia & Carolyne top scored in the Synchro event, to win the 17+ group, whilst Katie & Juliette narrowly missed out on a win in the Ladies synchro finishing a close second.  Alex & Carlie finished a close 4th in the U13 synchro.  In the Elite ladies event, Katie finished in 2nd place and together with the team of Cheynne, Juliette & Carolyne finished 2nd in the Elite Ladies team event.  So overall , it was a great set of results and well done to everyone.  Thanks to Beki, Cindy, Tracy & Laura who officiated on the day.

The team celebrated in style at the evening do, and the next morning joined in with very energetic training session.  Overall, it was a very successful and enjoyable trip and we can’t wait til next year when we hope to go one better in the main team event.
