South East Regional Championships 25/10/09

The RSC Elite squad had a brilliant day at the Regional championships today, despite a large entry from the regions 12 clubs.  In the U15 Advanced section, 10 year old Cheynne surprised the mainly older girls by using her double back routine for first time to use the highest difficulty score in the event.  This combined with a very sold set saw Cheynne win a fantastic 2nd place.

In the Elite Ladies competition which included all of the Region's grade A, B, & C competitors, RSC was aiming for a 7th straight consecutive individual & team win.  The team of  Juliette, Kia, Carolyne & Katie all completed routines of a high standard to win the team event, with the Gillingham A team (which contained 2 GB youth internationals) in 2nd place.  Juliette, Kia & Carolyne all qualified for the final where the individual event is decided on only the score of this final routine. The girls all held their nerve and produced brilliant final routines with Juliette retaining her Regional Ladies title by 0.1 from Kia, with Carolyne in 7th place.

Thanks to Laura for judging at the competition.

So many congratulations to the small RSC squad who all competed fantastically well and kept up RSC's superb winning run at the South East Regionals.
